Google Pixel 3 XL 2018- Display Notch-EXCLSUIVE

Leaked Prototype of Google Pixel 3 XL

What it seems to be a rumor couple of weeks ago, prototype of Google Pixel 3 XL having Display Notch and Glass Back has been leaked. If newly leaked images of a prototype are to be believed, it looks like the previous rumors could be true.

The images were first posted on the XDA Developers forums and show off the front and rear of the alleged device.

The front offers a large display with slim bezels all around and a small chin on the bottom. On the top area of the screen, there is a cut out for what looks like two front-facing cameras and an earpiece.

Display Notch

It has a glass back and Display Notch. It is not confirmed now whether the Pixel 3 XL has wireless charging support, that it does have a glass back bodes well for those hoping for the feature to be available.

The top Notch feature is getting viral and every manufacturer is incorporating the same in their upcoming gadgets, this can also be read for Xiaomi in my earlier blog https://xplorehub.blogspot.com/2018/06/xiaomi-mi-8-goes-out-of-stock-within.html

The leaked image of the prototype also suggests that the Pixel 3 XL will come with a 4GB + 128GB RAM and storage option, but it's still early in the day to confirm this.

What we can expect, however, is that the phones will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset and will run Android P from very first day.

You can also have a look at a mid range giant of Samsung being a mid-range budget phone having all the relevant features: https://xplorehub.blogspot.com/2018/06/samsung-galaxy-j8-2018-lag-free-mid.html

UPDATE:

The second leak for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL provided us with details for the pair’s screen sizes and a notch for the latter. Coming from a reliable source, it pegs the smaller Pixel 3 with 5.2' screen and larger one having 6.2' screen

For comparison, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL have 5.0″ and 6.0″ displays respectively. This suggests the Pixel 3 might feature an 18:9 aspect ratio, although the screen-to-body ratio may not be very impressive.  Since the bigger Pixel 3 XL will have a notch at the top, we can expect it to have a taller 19:9 aspect ratio.

This can also be confirmed by a Bloomberg report from earlier this year that claimed the duo will feature two front-facing cameras.

It is also evident that both the smartphones feature front-facing stereo speakers, just like their predecessors.

As for physical dimensions, the Pixel 3 will measure 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9mm, while the Pixel 3 XL will measure 158 x 76.6 x 7.9mm. However, both smartphones will measure 8.6mm thin if we account for the rear camera bump.

But the current Pixels lack is an ability to achieve binocular disparity and facial mapping through dot projection. These two features are must to build a virtual 3D model of a person’s face and different between minor details.

It’s also the reason why the iPhone X’s Face ID can be used with glasses and other accessories.
As updated above and more importantly, the Pixel 3 XL, will feature larger displays over their predecessors. This will allow Google more internal room to add more hardware components.

On the road to front facing 3D facial recognition, Google’s got only a few barriers to cross.

Now let us go over some of the other design highlights revealed by these renders. Starting with the Pixel 3, we can see that the smartphone features a single camera on the back, with an LED flash module next to it. Positioned slightly below is a circular fingerprint sensor and the Google logo placed towards the bottom of the hands.

The rear panel itself appears to be very similar to that of the Pixel 2 with a small glass portion on the top and the rest of the back panel made out of metal. At the bottom, we have a USB Type-C port and a SIM card tray.

Also, there are no buttons on the right side of the device, while the left side has the volume rocker and the turquoise-finished power button.

The bigger Pixel 3 XL looks more or less identical to the Pixel 3 from the back. It too comes with a single camera on the back, which might disappoint some fans out there. Rest of the key design elements are also identical to the smaller Pixel 3.

ONLINE GAMES- “Gambling or Not” in India

ONLINE GAMES- “Gambling or Not” in India

The Skill and Chance are like two different poles of earth not meeting each other ever. As skill is mastered by hard-work while chance is just a matter of luck.

As we know games of chance are banned in most of the states in India while games of skill are kosher.

The distinction between games of skill and games of chance has been brought about by Supreme Court of India after enactment of law recognizing online games of skill and licenses by Nagaland. The Nagaland Act allows a host of online games, including chess, Sudoku, poker, rummy, virtual sports like cricket, football and fantasy sports league games, to be licenced and played that are based on skill of a person. It clearly states that if you are owner of a online game that is game of skill only(catch no such luck in case of game of chance) you can take license and earn revenue.

Let’s elaborate:

Game of Skill:

As defined by ‘The Nagaland Prohibition of Gaming and Promotion and Regulation of Online Games of Skill Act, 2016. (“Nagaland Act”), Game of Skill means “including all such games where there is a preponderance of skill over chance, including where the skill relates to strategizing the manner of placing wagers or placing bets, or where the skill lies in team selection or selection of virtual stocks based on analyses, or where the skill relates to the manner in which the moves are made, whether through deployment of physical or mental skill and acumen.”

The law in India states a game to be a game of skill, even with the element of chance if it depends upon:

  • Superior knowledge;
  • Training;
  • Analytical Skill
  • Attention;
  • Experience;
  • Adroitness of the Player;
  • Element of Skill predominates over the element of chance

Game of Chance: Are u that Lucky to hit Bulls Eye?????

The chance states like a game of rummy where its not the skill but its about your luck whether it is with you or not.

Whether its Safe: ‘Better safe than Never’

It provides that once a license is granted under the Act earning revenue from the games will not amount to gambling anywhere in India where online gaming is permitted. Hence it provides a bullet proof jacket to company/game developer which can claim a legitimate license in case of any dispute.

Goa a dream destination of every bachelor legalises gambling in land and off-shore both but only for five-star establishments having government permit/license.

Recently, Punjab and Haryana High Court in Varun Gumber Vs UT of Chandigarh & Ors case Judgement ruling has provided respite to fantasy sports operators and ruled that fantasy sports betting is a predominantly skill based game.

Conclusion: Happy Ending……….

Online Gaming continues to be a grey area. There are interesting variations in the world of online gaming and gambling in India. Just take an example, wagering on horse racing is legal because it is a game of skill but wagering on the game of cricket is not and lottery, which is pure gambling, is regulated but legal whereas online Texas Hold’em Poker, which many argue is a game of skill, may or may not be legal in every state. Regardless we Indians are playing Online games in large numbers.

Online Gaming governed under the regime of the State Legislation, there is no uniformity under the law. Mere involvement of stakes/chance is an inefficient mechanism to tag a game as a gambling activity. In the era of growing acceptance and evolution of gaming, there is a requirement of a Central effective legislation throwing light on the activities which may be specifically classified as gambling separating it from those involving preponderance of skill.

Creating a regulatory framework and providing much needed legislative clarity with respect to online gaming would not only help curb underground activity but also create new sources of tax revenue.

Online gaming can’t be done away with as being a great revenue generator for some license providing states and also being the modern way of gaming in India.
